SOUTHEASTERN MILLWORK ANNOUNCES.....

**Update: The Seventh Edition Building Code for One and Two-Family Dwellings has come into full force and effect as of January 1, 2008. The Sixth Edition of the Code as it controlled one and two-family dwellings can no longer be used.

The Seventh Edition of the Code for Single and Two Family Dwellings is finally a reality. The effective date of the new code is April 1, 2007. However, the BBRS has voted to allow a six (6) month overlap period where a code user may choose to use either the sixth or seventh edition of the code (without mixing provisions) when designing or building a single or two-family dwelling. On October 1, 2007, the Seventh Edition will be in full force and effect for single and two-family dwellings. A permit applicant would have to file an application on or before October 1, 2007 in order to utilize provisions of the sixth edition.

The new code will be available in several formats from various sources. However, it is important to note that the offical version of the code is only available through the Office of the Secretary of State, Regulations Division. The offical version of the code may be purchased from the State House Bookstore beginning April 1st. Interested parties may place an order over the phone by calling (617) 727-2834; accessing the Secretary's website at www.mass.gov/sec or by visiting the Bookstore at the Statehouse on Beacon Hill, downtown Boston.

"Change A Door"
10/1/2008

At Southeastern Millwork we have been in the business of building door units since 1979. For over 29 years our door experts, working with specialized equipment in our door shop, have assembled thousands of door units for homes and businesses in our area.

Now we're trying something a little different - something we've been doing quietly for our regular customer for years. We are machining replacement doors to order.

Few things can make as big an improvement in how your house is perceived as can new doors and updated hardware. But till now, the cost and disruption of replacing complete door units - new units not aligning properly with wallpaper, baseboard, flooring, etc. - never mind the aggravation of having your house under construction with you in it, has been prohibitive.

We think our door replacement program can change that.   We call it 'Change a Door'.

What you do -

  1. Remove the hinge pins from one or more of your interior doors and remove the door from the hinges.
  2. Bring the doors to Southeastern Millwork and choose a new door and even new hinges and knobs if you like.
  3. Return in a few days (for most styles) and pick up your new doors.

What we do -

  1. Provide a wide selection of doors and hardware for you to choose from.
  2. Expertly machine new doors to fit your existing door frames.

That's it - bring us one door or twenty, we'll make it happen!
